You Can Make a Difference!

How can you help make a difference?

Anyone who cares can make a difference. By donating your time, goods, or monetary donation you can make a difference in the lives of those "surviving" abuse. All it takes is a person who cares about others to make an impact in another person's life.
What items can does SASA not accept?
We cannot accept TV’s, car seats, or non-working appliances.
What does it take to be a good donor?
By putting yourself in the "survivor's" shoes you realize they are starting out from the beginning. Even items as simple as soap and a towel are needed. Before making your donations please filter through your items and discard clothing or items that are stained and torn or are not in working condition.

  • REASONS TO GET INVOLVED:

it feels good. There is a sense of pride and satisfaction that comes from helping others by volunteering. When you decide to devote your time and effort to an organization you feel strongly about, the feeling of fulfillment can be endless.

    • It strengthens your community. Organizations and agencies that use volunteers are providing important services at low or no cost to those who need them. When a community is doing well as a whole, its individuals are better off too.
    • It can strengthen your family. Volunteering is a great way for families to have fun and feel closer. Many families don't feel they have extra time to donate after fulfilling work commitments as well as juggling the families’ schedule. If that is the case, rethink some of your free time that your family spends together. You could select just one or two projects a year and make them a family tradition. Children love the sense of responsibility of helping others and it shows them how to make a difference in the lives of others.
    • Who can volunteer? SASA needs caring and compassionate people with a desire to make a difference. Call Kerry at (402) 463-5810 for more information!
